    Description:
    Domino 8 implemented a new option for NIF (Notes Index Facility) performance.

    For views using on demand sorting options, the administrators can help designer to use this new feature, first of all concerned Domino servers should set the following notes.ini variable

    Enable_On_Demand_Collations=1

    Secondly, the Lotus-Notes application designers should define for each view columns, the deferring index creation option for sortable columns.

    The first performance step is that the view index will only be created for the view. The column index(es) will be created only when the user will clik on the sorting icons in the column header.

    The important impact will reside on the Dominno server side, only one index will have to be maintained until a the sorting options of the column will be used by the end user.
