      Category:

        NWall

      Default:

        None

      UI equivalent:

        None

      Description:
It is in this setting that you may specify the options that NWall will use when it is executed. This option overrides settings in AntigenOptions.

      NWallOptions accepts the following options:

/a Check file attachments (Default is OFF). Scans all file attachments to Notes documents and alerts you of any viruses found. File attachment scanning can check for the presence of file infector viruses. Note that NShield must first be configured with a virus scanning engine before virus scanning on file attachments is enabled.

/f Enable false alarm tracking (Default is ON). Looks in the Quarantine Area for documents marked as False Alarms before flagging and disabling documents as viruses. Also provides a performance optimization by adding stored forms that are scanned but not infected to the in-memory false alarm table.

/g Enable scanning of HTML bodies for viruses such as "Kak" and "BubbleBoy."

/o Scan all OLE embedded objects (Default is ON). Checks for OLE objects that attempt to transfer and execute binary programs when activated. Only disable this option (-o) if the database to be scanned does not have any OLE objects or the OLE objects have been already scanned.

/r Scan all rich text fields of documents (Default is ON). Checks all RTF fields to identify potentially harmful buttons, hotspots, and stealth forms embedded into rich text fields. Only disable this option (-r) if the database to be scanned does not have any rich text fields or the rich text fields have been already scanned.

/t Trust notes scanned by other servers (Default is OFF). This option is useful in an Antigen environment where multiple servers are scanning and cleaning documents. Specifically, the trust feature allows replicated or routed notes to be scanned just once (unless they are updated), rather than once on each server. Antigen utilizes less system resources and performance is increased when this option is enabled. By default, servers in the same Notes Domain will trust each other when this feature is enabled. The AntigenDomain setting in NOTES.INI can be used to define a custom set of servers that will trust each other.

/u Enables virus cleaning by allowing updates to the source database document (Default is OFF). Automatically disables viruses by removing the suspected problem (e.g., a file attachment) from the document. All data fields in the document are preserved.

/v Verbose screen output (Default is OFF). Displays detailed information on the screen for each document processed by Antigen, including its Note ID and disposition. If the Notes Client is active, the information is displayed on the status line, one line at a time. Click on the status line to see the nine previous lines.

/x Delete the source database document that is infected rather than disabling the virus in the document (Default is OFF). If you set policy explicitly prohibiting activity detected by Antigen, you may use this option. The +U option must be set for the +X option to be enabled.

Please Note: All information about the suspected virus is stored in Quarantine Area. The original document can also be fully restored from the Quarantine Area.

/z Scan the stored form embedded in documents (Default is ON). Checks the stored form flags, field formulas, button macros, and hotspot macros. Only disable this option (-z) if the database to be scanned does not store forms in documents or the stored forms have already been scanned.
