      Problem
The Notes 8.5 client stores two NOTES.INI parameters on the client that contain the name and location of the last active user ID. Those parameters are KeyFileName_Owner and KeyFileName.

When ID Vault is employed and the user's ID file is missing, the ID file is automatically downloaded from the vault to the location set in the KeyFileName parameter.

Is there a security risk if I set the value of KeyFileName_Owner to an arbitrary user name in an attempt to have a copy of that user's ID downloaded from the vault? Does this work if the user is a Roaming user?

      Resolving the problem
There is not a security risk because the user must enter the correct password for the ID stored in the vault before it is downloaded to the client.

Roaming users (traditional and file server) work the same as non-roaming users. When ID Vault is configured and the roaming user's ID is missing from the client, the user ID is automatically downloaded from the ID vault when the correct password is provided.
