Notes.ini Entry

Name:

    LDAPNotesPort

Syntax

    LDAPNotesPort=Portname

Applies to:

    Servers

Add-on:

    First Release:

      6.0

    Obsolete since:

      Category:

        Ldap

      Default:

        389

      UI equivalent:

        None

      Description:
Specifies the name of the Notes network port for TCP/IP that you are linking the LDAP service with. This setting is required for a partitioned server hosting LDAP, and for a single server hosting it if the server more than one Notes port for TCP/IP.

This setting is new in ND6

      Example : LDAPNotesPort=TCPIP

When trying to load the Domino LDAP task you see these error messages:

02/17/2005 09:33:57 AM LDAP Server: Initialization failure: Notes Port Driver unavailable
02/17/2005 09:33:57 AM LDAP Server: Initialization failure: Notes Port Driver unavailable
02/17/2005 09:33:59 AM LDAP Server: Waiting for all tasks to complete
02/17/2005 09:34:07 AM LDAP Server: Listener failure: Notes Port Driver unavailable
02/17/2005 09:34:07 AM LDAP Server: All tasks have completed
02/17/2005 09:34:07 AM LDAP Server: Shutdown

These error messages can occur when the LDAPNOTESPORT= line is set in the notes.ini to be an IP address or something other than a Notes Port name.
This parameter should be set something like LDAPNOTESPORT=TCPIP and not LDAPNOTESPORT=192.168.0.1

      Solution
To fix this problem either remove the LDAPNOTESPORT or set it appropriately.
The LDAPNOTESPORT ini parameter should be used when there is a seperate Notes Port configured in the Domino Server document that the LDAP task should bind to.
