        Description:
        The Notes R4 router caches open mail file database handles for performance reasons. The router caches the database handle when it delivers mail into the mail file. If the router does not deliver any additional mail to the mail file within fifteen (15) minutes, the open database handle is closed and removed from the cache.

        There is a NOTES.INI variable that toggles the use of the dbcache. If the INI variable "MailDisableDBCache" is set to one (1), the router will close all open mail files and remove the database handles from the dbcache. If the INI variable "MailDisableDBCache" is reset to zero (0), the dbcache will be reactivated. The setting can be made prior to starting the router or while the router is running.

        Not setting this might cause a Domino 4.5x server to have following error when the customer deletes a large number of documents in a mail file and decides to run Compact on the mail file. The following error is displayed: "Cannot Compact the Database File Is in Use by You or Another User."
