        Description:
Usage of Domino's journaling capability is on the rise. More and more customers are turning to email archiving products - such as those from IBM Commonstore, Symantec, EMC, AxsOne, Zantaz, and others - for compliance discovery solutions, as well as to cut down the size of production mail storage on their Domino servers. We added enhancements in this area to Domino 7.0.2 to address some feature requests.

In Domino 7.0, Domino group names are expanded to include the actual recipient names from the To, CC and BCC, fields; these names are sent to the Domino journal database, This information can, in turn, be collected by third-party archiving servers. The names that are derived from the group expansion, and which are recorded with the journaled note, result from the router's logic to determine to which recipients to deliver the mail, versus post-delivery expansion that could potentially reflect different results if the group(s) had been modified. This ensures that the names reflect the actual intended recipients at the time the message is delivered, even if the group member names change over time.

This new feature is enabled through a new Notes.ini parameter, JournalRecipients=x. Set to 0 (the default) to disable the feature; set to 1 to enable it.

Two new items are introduced when this parameter is enabled:
