Name:

    ServerTasks

Syntax

    ServerTasks=Taskname(s)

Applies to:

    Servers

Add-on:

    First Release:

      Obsolete since:

        Category:

          Administration, Mail

        Default:

Replica, Router, Update, Stats, AMgr, Adminp, Sched, CalConn, Billing, [Cldbdir, Clrepl]

        UI equivalent:

          None

        Description:
Specifies the tasks that begin automatically at server startup and continue until the server is shut down. For example:

ServerTasks=Replica, Router, Update, Stats, AMgr, Adminp, Sched, CalConn, Event, Collect, MTC, RunJava ISpy

The server runs the Replicator, Router, Indexer, Stats, Agent Manager, Administration Process, Schedule Manager, Calendar Connector, Event, Collector, Mail Tracker Collector, and Mail Probe server tasks. Each task increases the server's load and may adversely affect server performance. Note that RunJava ISpy is case sensitive and must be specified exactly as shown.

NOTE: Upgrading servers that use the SMTP MTA.

When you upgrade to R5 a 4.x server that uses the SMTP MTA, the program file NSMTPMTA.EXE and the NOTES.INI file setting ServerTasks=SMTPMTA are not automatically deleted. You must manually delete the program file from the Domino directory and remove the setting from the NOTES.INI file.

When you upgrade to R5 remove the REPORTS entry from ServerTasks It is also possible to start server tasts from a Server/Program document in your NAB however it's generally expected that at least the core server tasks such as update, replia, router etc.. are started from the ini file. Many add-ins expect to find this line and may not function correctly without it.

This setting is also used for third party tools to have their programms be startet at server start.

Third party Example : ServerTasks=snapper -> Teamstudio Snapper service
