My proposal for a session on Query Views had been selected for Lotusphere 2009. The presentation was completed, submitted and approved. Demo database just about done. Then I get a call about the session, IBM is putting db2nsf into maintenance mode and that I can't talk about db2nsf in my presentation. But the presentation was totally about db2nsf!

I spent the holidays creating a new presentation on all the Lotus provide methods for connecting to db2. It will cover LEI, DCR, DECS, @dbcommand, LC LSX and JDBC. It's more of an overview then in depth because of the number of methods to cover.

I still believe that Query Views are the hottest thing to happen to Notes since folders. I've attached the presentation here and will be posting the demonstration database as soon as I get the web section completed. I have to finish the demo for Lotusphere first.

I will be doing individual entries for some of the more interesting aspects of using Query Views such as having real row numbers. These are row numbers that can be used in the view, so now you know if this is the first row, last row or row number 42.

Going further with DB2 and Domino (Original cut)
Take your server-based apps to the next level by using DB2 for the NSF store. We'll show you how to build views that will show documents from different Lotus Domino databases, but work like a normal view. We'll cover working with SQL queries to get the data you need in the format you can use for viewing, reporting or navigation, and creating a single view that will let the user define what fields to include and sort on instead of using multiple views. We'll show you how to build dynamic views for the web that change based on the parameters passed and can be used to provide data in JSON format.
